Anatomy and Physiology of Speech Mechanisms

  • Description: This course, Anatomy and Physiology of Speech, is intended to provide the knowledge needed to begin studying and working in the field of Speech-Language Pathology anywhere in the World. This course is the fifth in a series of speech-language pathology courses that have been created by the faculty and students at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine’s Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology. To take this course for credit and a certificate, you must take a pre-test and post-test, take lesson practice quizzes, and complete peer, mentor, and case-study learning activities. All components of this training (like all NextGenU.org trainings) are free, including registration, learning, testing, and a certificate of completion. There are 4 modules to complete, providing a basic understanding of communication disorders and speech-language pathology through online study and peer-to-peer activities, and local observation with a qualified mentor that you or your institution identify.
